ABOUT US
Friends of Inharrime is a 501(c)3 organization working to improve the lives of children and families in Mozambique through projects in education, nutrition and health.
We support a sponsorship program to pay children's school fees, food, and medical costs; we provide daily lunch, at the Patrici Soprani Primary School associated with the Laura Vicuña Center to help students have the energy to learn; and, with a local hospital, we provide nutrition and medical support for malnourished infants.
What We Do
School lunch
Every day, more than 800 students receive a small lunch at the Laura Vicuña Primary School through the support of our program. Many of these students must leave home without breakfast in the morning, walk several miles to school, and study all day.
Samuel's Milk
Since 2013, we have partnered with both local and international organizations, including the American Academy of Pediatrics' International Child Health program, to provide supplement formula and nutrition for babies with failure-to-thrive in Inharrime.
Sponsorship
With our partners, Friends of Inharrime provides nutritional, educational, and social support for hundreds of children near Inharrime in families without access to these resources.
Advocacy and Awareness
Examples of past work include presentations to university students about international volunteering, discussions with medical students about the social aspects of health and disease, and talks with elementary school students about Mozambican culture.
Be the change you wish to see in the world.
